What to do when you don’t know what to do next

I sold my business not too long ago. I had four months of negotiating emotions and difficult circumstances that taught me so much about myself, though they were lessons I didn’t intend on learning.

While wading through all of the uncertainty and allowing myself to feel all of the feelings of saying goodbye, I started thinking about the people who have found their way to crafting the kind of life they want to live. They are part of what inspired me to leave my 8 year old, thriving, business. The question that I most wanted to hear the answers to was “what did you do when you didn’t know what you were doing?”

I set out to find some answers. My first interview (listen time is 1hr 14mins, but you can speed it up by listening faster!) was with Tanis Frame, coach self defined as “science-geek, soul-sister, thrive-catalyst, play-evangelist and mom who is choosing to thrive.” I wanted to learn how she came to create a business that gives her the time to play and do what she loves…being out in nature, doing art, and having fun with friends and family…when she wants.

In this interview, Tanis answers the question of how she designed her own lifestyle, AND she gives some tips on what she has done when she has felt like she doesn’t know what she’s doing. A quick note about the interview: it is totally unedited! It is my first attempt at this, so bear with it. The info is so so good!

I spent 2018 getting to know Tanis and a group of women in her Decide to Thrive Immersion, a ten month long experience in learning to thrive! Her next session is open for enrollment. It was so rich, I’m doing it again to get deeper into the skills of thriving. Maybe I’ll see you there?
